Venue

IFL 2024 will take place in Nijmegen, at the Faculty of Physics, Maths, and Information sciences.

Transport

To travel internationally or nationally to Nijmegen, the following public transit options are available:

  • Plane
    • To travel by plane, several options are available:
      • Schiphol, after which you can take a domestic train (±1.5hr)
      • Eindhoven, after which you can take a bus followed by a domestic train (±1.5hr)
      • Weeze, after which you can take a cab or a car to Nijmegen (±0.5hr)
  • Train
    • Several international train lines can be used. Plan your trip on https://bahn.de or on https://nsinternational.nl (if you must). If you have any questions regarding international train travel, please contact Mart (mart "at" cs "dot" ru "dot" nl).
      • From Arnhem (15 min by local train) there are direct connections into Germany (Köln, Frankfurt) and Austria (Nightjet sleeper from Vienna)
      • From Amsterdam (1.5hr by local train) there are direct connections to Belgium (Brussels, Antwerp), the UK (London) and France (Paris, Marseille).
      • From Deventer (45min by local train) there are direct connections to Germany (Berlin)
    • Alternatively, there is a, unbookable by DB, sleeper train that you comes past Deventer as well coming from Prague, Dresden, Berlin) that is bookable via https://www.europeansleeper.eu/.

Local transport

  • Train:
    • Trips within the Netherlands can be planned on the website of the national railroads company or in their app (Android|Apple). NS also knows about all busses/trains from other companies in the Netherlands, so feel free to plan all trips there.
    • To pay, make sure you check in and out using your bank card or credit card (see here for more info) at the station. Make sure to check into the correct train company.
  • Bus
    • Between Nijmegen Central Station and the university, line 10 is the best option. Exit the bus at the stop "Huygensgebouw". Bus trips can also be planned on the NS app or website.
